Catana Catamarans

CATANA RALLY 2006

Until now, CATANA chose a week-end in May to bring together its sailing yachts based in the Mediterranean. An imposing flottila of catamarans was invited to Port Pin Rolland, the harbour of Poncin Group, near Saint Mandrier. 
Forty eight hours dedicated to partying, sailing and socialising between the CATANA owners and company, all happy to share their experiences. 
This year, the management of the yard wanted to satisfy the other group of its customers, those who rightly chose a Catana to slip the mooring ropes and set off in search of adventure and new horizons.
 The West Indies suggested themselves to be the ideal meeting place for the skippers cruising between Venezuela, Golf of Mexico and the Bahamas .Everybody could meet there, owners of CATANA form the north as well as from the southern part of the Caribbean.  This did not take into account  the "annoyed europeans" who absolutely didn't want to miss the annual Rally even if their own boat was in the wrong part of the world. This meeting was  probably unique in number and quality of sailing catamarans attending. 
Thanks to Dream Yacht Charter , the partner of Poncin Group in the West Indies, this big operation could be successfully coordinated. 
A nice challenge for the organizers : to welcome and embark on a Catana fleet about a hundred clients coming as far afield as Argentina, the United States, South Africa, Spain and Austria. They won the bet ! The Catana owners that could not bring their own boats could embark on the "house" catamaran, supplied by Dream Yacht charter. 
In that way, sixteen catamarans were on the line in Marin, Thursday, 11th of May, decorated with tropical flowers and loaded with fruits and Ti'Punch . The program of the week-end offered by the Poncin Group and Dream Yacht, was a series of discoverys and spicy stopovers, crowned by a musical finaly at Marigot Bay. From the East Side of Saint Lucia sailors could then continue to the big tropical dive sites in the Grenadine Island after the rally.
